Caramelised banana and hazelnut waffles

You will need...

  • 4 packaged Belgian-style waffles

  • 40g butter

  • 4 ripe banans (800g), sliced thickly

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • ½ cup (75g) roasted hazelnuts, chopped coarsely

  • 1/3 cup (80ml) maple syrup

How to make Caramelised banana and hazelnut waffles:

  1. Preheat oven to moderately slow (170°C/150°C Fan-forced).

  2. Placed waffles, in single layer, on oven tray; cook, uncovered, about 8 minutes, just to heat through.

  3. Meanwhile, melt butter in medium frying pan; cook banana, stirring, about 2 minutes or until hot. Add sugar; cook, uncovered, over low heat, about 2 minutes or until banana is caramelized lightly.

  4. Divide waffles among serving plates; top with banana mixture, nuts and syrup.

Serve 4 Per serving 27.2g fat; 2283KJ (545 cal)

Tip:

Nuts can be omitted from recipe if desired.
