  • 2 tbsp gram flour (besan)

  • 2 tbsp curd

  • ½ tsp salt to taste

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • ½ onion-chopped very finely.

How to make Whole Moong Chillas

  1. Soak moong dal for 8 hours. Drain and grind to paste with coriander, using about ¼ cup water.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly till there are no lumps.

  3. Add enough water about 2 cups till the batter is of thick pouring consistency.

  4. Spread little oil on a nonstick tawa. Take 2 tbsp of batter and spread thinly.

  5. Leave on low flame for 3-4 minutes till the sides begin to rise slightly.

  6. Turn, cook on the other side. Fold and serve with a dollop of butter or fresh curd.

Whole Moong Chillas Tips:

Moong Pakoda: Reduce quantity of water to about ½ cup to get a thick dropping batter. Beat batter well to make it fluffy. Add all ingredients. Drop spoonful in hot oil and deep fry to make pakoras.
